The American Society for Reproductive Medicine suggests that reproductive endocrinologists transfer two to three embryos for women between the ages of 35 and 37. The transfer of three to four embryos for women 38 to 40 is also noted with these guidelines. For women under 35 who have a good chance of achieving a pregnancy, the transfer of a single embryo is recommended.
