Donna and Mike Flynn
Hinsdale, Illinois
Donna and Mike Flynn of Hinsdale, Ill. are the proud parents of
triplets thanks to ARR and the help it provided when they opted
for surrogacy after five years of fertility treatments failed.
The Flynns met with several agencies before choosing ARR. “Robin
von Halle and the ARR team made us feel tremendously comfortable
during a very emotional time,” says Donna. “They held our hands
throughout the entire process, so that meeting the surrogate was
a joyful experience.” The Flynns still maintain a relationship
with their surrogate. “We thank her every day for the gift she
has given us,” Donna says.
Cheryl Johnson
Willowbrook, Illinois
Cheryl Johnson of Willowbrook, Ill. always wanted children, but
as she grew older she knew the chances of becoming pregnant would
become lower. “ARR had the philosophy I was looking for in an
agency,” says Cheryl. “The team made me feel very comfortable
as a single woman making a life-changing decision.” She also
was impressed by ARR’s egg donor process. “ARR did extensive
background work as part of the process, ultimately matching me
with two exceptional potential donors. They both shared my characteristics
and values.” Cheryl is now the proud mother of twin boys. “My
donor and ARR helped me create the family I always wanted.”
Sara
and Joe Shacter
Chicago, Illinois
Sara Shacter of Chicago endured seven miscarriages in as many
years. With no chance of being able to carry a baby to term,
Sara and her husband Joe decided to look into both surrogacy
and adoption. After thoroughly researching both methods, the
couple opted for surrogacy. “We liked the people at ARR right
away,” says Sara. “They made us feel comfortable and made sure
they matched us with the right surrogate. We spoke regularly
with her while she was pregnant and she made me feel as if I
were carrying the baby.” Today, Sara and Joe are parents to twin
boys and consider their surrogate part of their family.
John
and Jane Smith
Highland, Indiana
John and Jane Smith (names withheld for confidentiality reasons)
desperately hoped to have a child before John was deployed to
Iraq. With two failed in-vitro fertilization treatments, the
couple decided that an egg donor was their best chance to have
a child – but they had a very narrow window of time before his
deployment. “We were very impressed with how hard ARR worked
to make the egg donor process happen given our time constraints,”
says Jane. “Robin von Halle was with me through every procedure
while my husband was away. She went out of her way to make me
feel special.” When John returned from his tour, Mrs. Smith was
able to tell him the procedure had worked: Seven months later,
their son was born.
